Makueni’s seventh cohort of interns concluded a year of departmental placements with a closing meeting at the Makueni Integrated Vocational Empowerment Centre. The programme had taken in 125 young professionals the previous July.

According to the county, eight participants had secured employment and one had received a scholarship by the end of the placement period. Others completed the programme with workplace experience and mentoring to support their next career steps.

The county presented the internships as part of Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr.’s youth development agenda. Education and ICT executive Elizabeth Muli presided over the closing event.
