Health sector participants at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre took an interest in Makueni’s maternal and newborn care programmes during the 2026 health summit. The county’s report described recognition for innovations promoted by Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr.’s administration.

One featured programme, delivered with Vitamin Angels, supports maternal nutrition through multiple micronutrient supplementation. Another, developed with Laerdal Global Health, brings together tools for safer care during labour and after birth.

The county said it was procuring clinical devices as part of the Safer Births Bundle of Care. The exhibition offered a platform to share the county’s work with government agencies and health partners.
